As the D-day arrives, you are all too excited because you cannot wait for a long to meet your baby, but then, of course, this is a time when the days are endless, nights are restless. Everything in this world is in full swing, but you’re standing there in the middle of an alternate reality where time is moving at a relatively slower pace, sometimes it comes to a total standstill. Nope, you are not hallucinating; it is your reality and definitely a beautiful one.
So, what should you expect in the 34 Weeks pregnant phase and how your body behaves? This is the time when you should be a little careful about your body and the baby.
Everything Feels Like Contraction
Certainly, every mom in the world waits for that special feeling. In fact, there are lots of things going on out there; sometimes the baby is kicking, the side ache is going through Costco and there is a cramp. Fortunately, everything just feels like a contraction.
If you have been through labor earlier, you might have the feeling that the water is breaking. Sometimes it could be overwhelming, at other times it could be just psychological, but as a woman, you must trust your hunch. After all, you are good at it.
Eating, Eating, and Eating
This is the stage you are like eating everything and nothing. Your baby has taken all the space and there is no room. You will run to the kitchen, eat something and run back to the washroom because there is no room. Apparently, you would love to have your kitchen right beside your washroom because it is too hectic to run relentlessly from one room to another room because the baby has taken all the space and there is no room.
Living in a Zombie Land
The nights are scary and nightmarish. You will be sleeping, and then waking up in the middle of the night and wonder, why am I awake? I should be sleeping. After a while, you will find yourself in the washroom, the come back to the bed and sleep again, but after few minutes, you are turning again and looking at the clock wondering why the sun is not out yet; finally, when you feel like sleeping, it is almost dawn.
Now, you wake up and rush to your kitchen to have a cup of coffee. But hey, hang on! You should not be taking caffeine, right? Then you plan a lot of things that you want to do but eventually, you will forget them to do. Not being sure of the cause for this inexact state of being, but definitely, this will be the way things would possibly unfold during those days.
As the night falls, you are thinking that you will try to sleep tonight. Maybe things should work for you, but it is less likely. However, make sure that you do not drink too much before going to bed or work out heavily. If you do those things, then you might get a little sleep.
You cannot Grow Bigger
The belly is full stretched, there is no more room for expansion, your lungs cannot breathe more, your skin cannot be stretched more, and you cannot walk. However, it feels like that your belly still expanding dangerously, you are like a water balloon and everything seems like it is an endless expansion just like the black hole and you are forced to think that things are coming to an end but not any time soon.
What Should You do?
The above mentioned are the things that you should expect when you are 34 weeks pregnant. If that is the case, then what should you do?
Communicate: Being restless in the night might make you feel that you are becoming insomniac, but stay calm; it is not going to hurt you or the baby. However, if you feel that things are not just perfect, then you can talk to your family members or midwife. It is important that you keep your state of mind in a better state. The mind should be clear. Hence, make sure that you speak out your worries and concerns to your loved ones.
Eat Healthy: Make sure that you cook a healthy meal and eat fresh food. You might feel like taking caffeine which is normal, but make sure that you keep it to the minimum. Stay away from alcohol, and do not smoke. You can eat your favorite sandwich; however, never go for the foods that are not good for you and your baby.
This is a stage where excitement, fear, and curiosity mingle with each other. It is chaotic yet beautiful. In few days your babe will come out and smile for the first time. You will get back to life with more enthusiasm, the responsibilities will grow and you are going to get stronger as the days pass by. It will give strength and fullness; you are going to
live fully and beautifully.
